(azərbaycan kommunist partiyası) azerbaycan'da faaliyet gösteren siyasi partidir. 1993 yılında ramiz ahmadov (d. 6 mart 1939 - ö. 10 eylül 2007) tarafından kurulmuş ve adalet bakanlığı'na 1994 yılında kayıt olmuştur. parti kuruluşundan itibaren bölünmeler yaşamış ve her fraksiyon gerçek azerbaycan komünist partisi'nin kendileri olduğunu ileri sürmüştür.akp rusya federasyonu komünist partisi ile yakın ilişkisini sürdürmüştür. bununla birlikte azerbaycan'ın bağımsızlığına karşı değildir. ahmadov kendilerini narimanovist olarak nitelendirmiş ve 1920'ler azerbaycanının ılımlı milliyetçi ve solcu lideri olan ve "ulusal komünizmin" öncüsü olarak kabul edilen nariman narimanov'un ulusal, kültürel ve ekonomik düşüncelerine bağlı olduklarını söylemiştir.akp sıklıkla bölgedeki abd politikalarını eleştirir. 2004 yılında abd devlet bakanlığı abd'nin dağlık karabağ ayrılıkçıları için yaptırım uygulamayı planlamadığını açıklaması üzerine ahmadov amerikalıların gizlice ermeni çıkarlarına koruduğunu ve washington'un çatışmayı durdurmakla ilgilenmediğini söyledi. ayrıca büyük güçlerin karabağ sorununu kendi çıkarları için kullandıklarını belirtti.akp azerbaycan'ın ırak savaşı'na katılmasına şiddetle karşı çıktı ve sıklıkla filistin halkıyla, küba'yla ve ayrıca "sosyalist moldovya'yla" dayanışma çağrısı yaptı.*

1993'te haydar aliyev tarafından kurmuş olup 2003'te emekliliği ve ölümüne kadar başında bulunduğu azerbaycan'ın siyasî partilerinden biridir. şimdi oğlu ilham aliyev tarafından yönetilmekte olup azerbaycan'ın hüküment partisidir. seçimlerde (5 kasım 2000 ve 7 ocak 2001) parti toplam oyların %62,3'ünü alarak oyların saf çoğunluğunu elde etmiş, 125 sandalyeden 75'ini alabilmiştir. 6 kasım 2005'te yapılan parlamenter seçimlerde 125 sandalyeden 56'sını alabilmiştir.

Adalat Party : The Adalat (Justice) Party was established the day after the 2000 parliamentary elections by Ilyas Ismayilov, then chairman of the Democratic Party. Along with Democratic Party activists, Ismayilov, general prosecutor during the late Soviet period and minister of justice in the early 1990s, brought to the party mostly former employees of law enforcement agencies and judges. Sixteen party members are running for parliament. The party is a member of the Democratic Azerbaijan (DA) alliance, and 14 Adalat members are sponsored by this alliance. Ana Vatan Party (AVP) : The Motherland Party was established in 1992 by a group primarily made up of natives of Armenia?s Azerbaijani-populated regions. The party has two representatives in parliament, both from single mandate constituencies. The party, run by Fazail Agamali, is strictly pro-government. Civil Unity Party (CUP): CUP was established in 2000 and in 2001 named former President Ayaz Mutallibov, now in exile in Moscow, as its leader. Sabir Hajiyev, at the time secretary general of the party, became chairman when Mutallibov left the party and joined the Social Democrats in 2003. During the 2003 presidential election campaign, Hajiyev supported Ilham Aliyev?s candidacy. Three party members are running for parliament as independent candidates. Address: 30 M. Communist Party: The party claims that it has 60,000 members (all members of the old Communist Party of the Azerbaijan Soviet Socialist Republic.) Ramiz Ahmadov is the chairman of the party and one of two incumbent MPs. The Communists won two seats in 2000 by party lists, on a proportional vote. Democratic Azerbaijan Bloc: The bloc, established on the eve of the 2005 parliamentary elections, includes four parties: Adalat, Civil Solidarity, United Azerbaijan National Unity Party and the Azadlig Party. Adalat and Civil Solidarity are the bloc?s main players. Democratic Azerbaijan has nominated as candidates 14 members of Adalat, 14 members of CSP, two members of UANUP, one member of the Azadlig Party and three non-partisan candidates. Democratic Entrepreneurs Party : The Democratic Entrepreneurs Party was founded in April 1994 by businessman Mahmud Mamedov. The party is believed to be pro-government. Only one out of the three candidates promoted by the party in the November 2005 elections is a member of Democratic Entrepreneurs, however. Democratic Reformist Party : The party was established in the summer of 2005 under the leadership of Asim Mollazade, an incumbent MP and former deputy chairman of the Popular Front Party. The party?s leadership includes two newspaper editors and the director of the Trend news agency, along with NGO leaders and businesspeople. The party is running 14 official candidates for parliament and supports two non-partisans. Islahat Bloc: The Islahat (Reforms) alliance of pro-government parties includes the Democratic Azerbaijan World Party (DAW), Free Republicans Party (FRP) and Democratic Enlightenment Party (DEP). For the 2005 elections, the alliance backed 10 non-partisans, nine DAW members, five FRP members two DEP members and two YAP members. Muasir Musavat Party: The party was established in 2002 with the aim of misguiding opposition Musavat Party members and readers of the opposition Yeni Musavat newspaper by duplicating the opposition party?s name. (?Muasir? means ?modern? or ?contemporary.?) The chairman of the party, Hafiz Hajiyev, an anti-opposition activist, was head of the state fisheries committee under President Abulfaz Elchibey (1992-1993) and was once arrested on charges of corruption. New Parliament-New Names Bloc: This election alliance was designed to provide coordinated support for seven young candidates. Its leader is Elshad Iskenderov, a diplomat, who used to work in the Azerbaijani mission to the United Nations in New York City. In addition to its seven candidates, the alliance also supports two independent candidates. The campaign manager is Farhad Mammadov. The alliance advocates having more open-minded, liberal individuals replace more conservative political figures who have been members of parliament or the government for prolonged periods. Pro-Azerbaijani Forces Bloc: The alliance was originally established in 2001 by the Social Democrat Party, Vahdat (Unity) Party and Islamic Party. After the Social Democrats decided to join the YeS bloc in 2005, Vahdat and the Islamic Party, along with several public organizations, Birlik (Unity) Party and Milli Vahdat (National Unity) Party reformed the election alliance. All three parties are small political groups whose activities are mostly based in Baku, the Absheron Peninsula and Shirvan region. The alliance is backing 31 candidates for parliament, including 12 Vahdat members, one Birlik member and one Milli Vahdat member. Seventeen of the alliance?s members have registered themselves as independents in the election race. Most of these individual, however, are members of the Islamic Party, which is banned from contending in the 2005 elections. Umid Party: The Umid (Hope) Party was established in 2001 by a group of former Civil Unity Party members in protest at the nomination of former President Ayaz Mutallibov as CUP president. In 2000 Igbal Agazade was elected to parliament in a single mandate constituency. After the 2003 presidential election, Agazade was deprived of his immunity as a member of parliament and arrested for allegedly organizing opposition riots. Pardoned in 2005, he is running for parliament in the November elections. Financial support for the party, known as an outspoken critic of the government, has been the subject of some speculation, The party nominated 31 candidates for parliament, including 27 party members.
